FDA clamps down on labeling of so-called ‘healthy’ foods
The Food and Drug Administration is revamping its rules on the way food manufacturers can describe the health benefits on the front of their products.
“The food and beverage industry is committed to providing consumers with the products and information they need to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle,” Pamela Bailey, the Washington, D.C.-based group’s president and chief executive officer, said in a news release.
